Authors Note: This is sort of a sequel to A New Beginning. It makes much more sense if you read ANB first.

Birthday Girl, Trowa's Girl

Part I

Misty Antagonu was getting ready for her 18th. Invitations were taken care of; she had a club rented for February second. Currently, her band was setting up for the big day. Just now she was taping wires and cables down. Wills, who was setting up the drum set with her, looked up.

"So, what kinds of numbers are we talking about?"

"Well, we have just about all of the UCP seventh year officers like us, the cheerleaders and football players, Trowa, Cat, the rest of the guys, the usual," she replied, wiping sweat from her forehead.

"Yeah...but do we have a number to speak of?" the tall guitarist asked.

"About a hundred, maybe more...Amber took care of the guest list," she said, smirking. She was anticipating tomorrow night.

Duo Maxwell checked the mail at the garage. Grabbing a sandwich, he walked out to the black metal mailbox ad took the mass of bills, complaints, magazines, and only one small envelope. Interested at the handwritten note, he sat down and opened it.

"Misty," he whispered to himself. Looking at the front of the envelope, he saw that it had been sent to Heero, but with his address.

"We've got a party to go to!" he yelled down the hall to Hilde, calling Heero about the matter.

Misty made calls herself only to two people- Quatre and Trowa. Sitting down at the front desk, she pressed the buttons slowly. Quatre picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hello, friend. Are you busy tomorrow?"

"Misty?"

"No, this is Audrey Hepburn. What's up? Come to Misty's party or suffer the consequences!"

As soon as the Atlanta sun set, the club came alive. Misty was late for her own birthday party. But she made a big entrance. The limo carrying her and the band pulled up. As they walked in, Misty saw that she had done well. Strobe lights and glow sticks gave an edge to the small, twostory club. UCP Military Academy's local band, Shades of Blue, was booked for the second half, but a DJ had already taken over. The UCP cheerleaders were dancing on pool tables.

At the wave of cheers and yelling, Trowa Barton looked for his girlfriend. She finally came into view, walking up the stairs to them. Her strawberry blonde curls, drenched in glitter, bounced up and down her back. Looking up at Trowa, he saw that her grey eyes were big and bright. She wore a black halter dress, nicely accenting her china-doll figure. She nearly tripped over her black heels. Trowa wondered why it had taken him so long to realize that Misty Antagonu and Midii Une were one and the same.

Running up to the group, she sat down on the arm of the chair Trowa sat in. His arm wrapped around her back. Duo stood up, holding several glow sticks on necklaces.

"And a glow stick for the Birthday Girl!" he said. As she leaned over, curls spilled over her shoulders, which shimmered. She looked around, seeing so many familiar faces.

"Isn't this great?" she yelled over the music. Hearing people screaming her name, she took Trowa's hand and ran down the stairs. The other four Gundam pilots followed.

Downstairs, the DJ was playing 'In the End'

One thing, I don't know why, it doesn't even matter how hard you try

Keep in mind I designed this rhyme to explain in due time

Misty and Trowa walked over to the bar and ordered drinks. He looked into her eyes as she reached for her daquiri.

...All I know...

Is that time is a valuable thing

Watch it fly by while the pendulum swing

Watch it count down till the end of the day

The clock ticks life away

It's so unreal...

Didn't look out below

Watch the time fly right out the window

Trying to hold on, but you didn't even know

Wasted it all just to watch you go...

Trowa was reminded about Misty's and his young but whirlwind romance. It seemed like only yesterday that they had first kissed on the beach in Greece. He no longer heard the loud music, screaming cheerleaders, or yelling of all of the drunken football players. He was too into his fallen Angel. At the last notes of 'In the End', Misty leaned over and locked lips with Trowa.

"Mmm...hmm! Caught in the act- yet again!" Duo yelled over the noise.

"Sorry, babe. Duty calls," Misty told Trowa. Jumping down from the bar, she took her drink and tried to go back upstairs. However, Duo walked up behind her and held onto her waist.

"Dance with me or I'll tell everyone you wear a G-string," he whispered. She turned around.

"Duo, how do you know that?"

"Remember when you got soaked on the beach? Never wear white if you're gonna get waterlogged." She chuckled and walked up the stairs. The band, along with the three pilots, now four joined by Duo, sat around doing absolutely nothing. Misty took a seat between Quatre and Drew, the drummer. She and the blonde pilot were talking when everyone heard glass shatter. Misty walked to the balcony overhanging the stairs and looked down.

The window had been broken into shards. The DJ had not stopped the music, but no one was dancing- or breathing. While Godsmack's music was pumping, everyone stared at the five men who had broken in and were armed with machine guns. The cheerleaders stopped, the football players hushed. The guests, mostly officers, hadn't thought of bringing arms. Only the Gundam Pilots had more than their fists.

"Misty Antagonu- Where is she?" one of the men asked. All looked up to the balcony where the officer leaned over the rail.

"Yes, I'm here. Really, gentlemen, you are welcome to use the doors... I'm sure the owners would appreciate it," she yelled. Trowa walked up behind her, pressing a gun into her arm. She reached behind her back and grabbed it, smiling all the while.

"You have to come with us."

"On who's orders?" Trowa yelled.

"Direct orders are from Zechs Marquees. Miss Antagonu..."

"Zechs Marqees and I are good friends. I would know if he needed me. Can I buy you some drinks?"

"Now, Miss Antagonu." Misty looked to Trowa, and then to the other four pilots. Slipping the gun into her purse, she whispered to Trowa,

"I'll be fine."

"You gave this to me long ago. Now you need to take it back. I love you," he whispered. He slipped his cross over her neck. She nodded and walked down the stairs.

The young officer was pushed out of the door none too gently, brought out to a black limo.

"Get in," one of the men yelled. She did as she was told, but looking out of the tinted window before it closed completely, she looked around for Trowa. The car sped off out of the dark alleyway.

Misty tried to see out of the darkened window. She was alone in the back of a limo and she had no idea where they were taking her, except that she was not going to Zechs Marquees. Occasionally she still called him Zechs, though he had forbidden her to. Growing up alongside him, he had become a friend, even though he was three years older.

She was reminded of Trowa. The Spy and the Silencer- one with no past and one with no family. Sometimes she envied him- he had a sister, Catherine Bloom. The life of a spy was not easy, safe, or predictable. The only thing she was worried about was her closest friends- Heero. Duo. Quatre. Wufei. Wills. Amber. Lucretzia Noin. Wind. All she wanted was them. And she desperately wanted a gun-a big gun, like a gundam.

Deep in thought, she only realized they had stopped when she was roughly pulled out of the car. A gun was pressed into the curve of her back. Undoubtedly, this was Zechs Marquees' house, but why was she here?

Next Chapter: The Pilots are brought to Zechs's mansion, but the question remains- WHY?
