Alright.. this is only the introduction.. setting the scene, and all that. Not too much plot, but you DO get to see that the two of them are destined to give each other headaches. ^_^ /sigh/ They refuse to give in!
I don't own GW, Sunrise and Bandai do. I make NO MONEY. Warnings?? Potty mouths. No pairings.. it's a parental thing. ^_^
Esme On The Town - Part One
By Caliko
The stage is dark, except for one solitary light that shines down on a stool sitting in the center of stage. A young woman comes out from stage right, humming as she skips into view. Her white skirt flounces around her knees, and her hair hangs in long chestnut ringlets down her back. If you looked closely, you could see that her eye's weren't blue, but a unique shade of violet.
Catching site of the people in the audience, she blushes, gathering her dignity. Then, she does a little tap dance, cleverly making fun of being caught acting childish, and finishes with a flourish. Sticking out her tounge, she gives a little laugh, then skips to the stool and sits down.
"Hello, everyone!" She sings out, her bell-like laughter ringing through the little theater. "For all of you who don't know me... I am Esmerelda Christine Maxwell... and I am my Daddy's Angel."
A few snide comments where thrown back at her, causing Esme to glare. Getting up, she walked to the edge of the stage, and shielded her eyes against the glare of the stage light. Spotting the offender, she nonchalantly flipped him the bird, the gesture clashing with the picture of innocence she was trying to project. Then, hair flying around her, she spun around and hopped back into her seat.
"AS I was saying.. I am my Daddy's Angel. Of course.. he didn't always see it that way.. you see.. I take after him! We had a HUGE war, just because he refused to see that I was growing up!"

Scene one
Duo paced the floor, anger oozing out of his pores as he kept glaring at the clock. Every so often, he would pick up the phone to check if it was still working, only to slam it back in it's cradle when the irritating tone would sound. It was two o'clock in the morning, and Esme wasn't home yet.
He knew it was a mistake, letting his sixteen year old daughter date that walking hormone down the street, but he stupidly let Hilde talk him into allowing it. NEVER AGAIN!! As of this moment, Esmerelda Christine Maxwell was grounded for LIFE! He knew.. just KNEW that Tyler was making moves on his sweet baby!
At that moment, the doorbell rang, causing the a thin sheen of sweat to break out on his forehead. Was it the police? Was Esme in trouble? Arrested? In an accident? Dead? Slowly, he made his way to the door, dreading whatever news awaited him.
He breathed a sigh of relief when all he saw was Heero on his doorstep.
"Oh, it's you!" he whispered, trying not to wake Hilde and Jeremy.
Heero quirked up an eyebrow, silently asking what was going on.
Leading the other pilot towards the kitchen, he explained how Esme wasn't home yet. Soon, a matching expression of outrage took over the perfect soldiers features, and his knuckles went white as they tightened over the handle to his suitcase.
Heero had been there during Esme's birth, and she was his favorite adopted niece. Tyler Banks safe future was now at risk, a fact that Duo relished.
They both heard the noise at the same time - the sound of someone climbing into a bedroom window. Looking out from the kitchen, Duo noticed the culprits folly. He smirked, motioning Heero to take a look.
The other man soon returned his own evil grin, and silently made his way outside via the garage. Minutes later, he was sneaking up behind the struggling teenage boy as Duo met his daughter coming in.
She was halfway through the window, and reeked of beer. She spotted his boots in front of her glazed eyes, and looked up in shock at her father towering over her. Swallowing, she managed to squeak out a single, "Fuck!" before falling in the rest of the way at his feet.
Duo gave her a fierce glare, before quietly stating, "You better not be!" He bent down, dragging her up by the arm as she swayed, falling against him. Suddenly, Esme pulled away, running into the bathroom. The enraged father heard a quiet, "Mission accomplished" from outside the window and followed his daughter.
She was kneeling on the floor, paying homage to her new personal god, tears falling from her cheeks in drunken emotion. He smirked, hearing her mutter, "never again, never again!", as he left to meet Heero in the garage with Tyler in tow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He walked into the garage just in time to catch Heero's fist with his own.
"No killing the kid until I hear his excuses." Duo explained, giving Tye a very scary smile. "Spill it."
"I did not get her drunk, Mr. Maxwell! I swear it!" The boy sputtered. "It wasn't me!"
"It was a high school party, Tye. Everyone was under the age of twenty-one, so who brought the beer?"
"I dunno! I came back from the bathroom, and she was drinking one!"
Duo let his fist go, punching through the wall behind Tyler's ear. "I didn't ask if she was drinking! I think I figured that out for myself! I asked you who brought the booze!"
Tye looked back at him as if he had three heads. "You expect me to sell out one of my friends?"
"No. I expect you to sell out the guy that got your date drunk, leaving you to face up to her homicidal father."
"Jack Thornton." Tye spit out, more concerned with his own skin than the football players.
"I never did like that kid." Duo's eyes squinted, plans already turning in his mind. He always knew that Jack couldn't be trusted. "Get rid of him."
Heero smirked, then threw him out the open garage door, wincing as the teenager landed on the concrete next to his car.
"And don't come back!" He called out, brushing his palms against his jeans.
"Who does he think he is, chasing Tyler away? Sure.. I wasn't interested in him THAT way, but he has his uses, (His car). He's also easily controlled. Now, that's important to me. I can't stand a guy who has to have everything his way. With Tyler.. that's not a problem. I say jump... and he does."
The girl got up again, and started to pace the length of the stage with her hands locked behind her back. She was mumbling to herself, trying to phrase her thoughts better.
"And, that's not the worst thing he has ever done. No...he topped his atrocious behavior the very next day!"
**************************************
:::She looks so sweet.::: Duo thought, positioning the metal lids from the garbage cans.. :::So.. innocent.::: He shook his head, almost regretting what he was about to do. :::But, if I don't teach her a lesson now, she'll only do it again.:::
Duo Maxwell had no faith in hangovers alone. Yeah, they hurt like hell, and you were ALWAYS repentant.. 'till the next party.
Quickly, before he changed his mind, he began, smashing the lids together, creating a loud, obnoxious clanging that was intended to push her eyes inside out into hangover hell.
"SONOFABITCH!" Esme came up cursing, then winced as she grabbed her head. Creaking her eyes open a tad, she looked at the former 02 pilot, glowering as he smirked down at her.
"If you don't start watching the mouth, I'll send you down to that fancy boarding school the Yuy's go to."
"You wouldn't dare."
"Hmph.. don't tempt me, Baby-girl. Now.. How about making breakfast? Your Mama had to go shopping for your brother."
"Now, if my head as a tad clearer, if I was just a bit more awake... I might have thought twice before opening my mouth. Unfortunately, he was grinning like a maniac, holding those stupid garbage can lids, and he expected me to cook when the mere thought of food turned my stomach..... I could NOT be quiet. So.. with great dignity, I mustered up my courage, and looked him straight in the eyes."
"Screw you, Pop! You can cook your own freaking breakfast!"
"Bad move, I found out. The God of Death can ignore many, many things... but being told to screw off by his own daughter wasn't one of them." /sigh/ "Which is how I found myself trapped in that god forsaken boarding school, Saint Gabriel's"
"Now, Esme, if you behave yourself, and do what Sister Angelica tells you to do, then I'll let you spend the weekends at Uncle Wu's. BUT.. if you step out of line ONCE...well, then we'll see, won't you?"
"What' s the matter, Pop? Can't think of anything else to do to me?" She growled, ignoring his outstretched arms as he attempted to hug her. "Oh, and Dad? I WILL get expelled from here.. You can count on it."
"Well.. that was how it all started. Things just really escalated from there. Mama says that the problems we have are because I'm too much like Pop." Esme smiled, shaking her head. "I know she's right. I'll tell you a bit more next time, but for now, I have a little skirmish to settle."
The girl got up and left the stage. Seconds later, you could see a dark shadow running up the aisle and someone in the back row jumping up and dashing out the door. Maniacal screams followed, ending at last in a winded, "Alright, I give up! "
Esme briefly poked her head back in the door with a wide grin on her face. "I'll see you next time! Just wait until you see what I did to Saint Gabriel's.. the school has never been the same since!"
